Hello friends! It's Leslie here ... we (hubs and I) just got back from Las Vegas. We headed out there for 4 days to hit up the apparel market that is out there twice a year. What a success it was!
We arrived on Monday night, grabbed dinner and hit the sack. Tuesday morning we got up and was off to market. One of my absolute favorite things when we get to travel is room service breakfast! Seriously. If I could only eat one meal a day, it would be a big breakfast with eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, biscuits, gravy, pancakes ... you name it! So, the joy of traveling is I get my big breakfast!! After breakfast we hit up our first market. These things are huge, people come from all over. Let me tell you, it's exhausting shopping for clothes for y'all all day! Finding the items that we want to bring in up to size 3X, the items I think will do the best in smaller and/or larger sizes only. In the almost 5 years of business, I have learned the items that sell better in certain sizes and sometimes it's not beneficial to have it up to sizes 2X/3X.
We visited many of our favorite vendors that we do business with on a regular basis. When we got to one of our frequent vendors, we were visiting and catching up. At the end of the conversation, he told me "man, you look tired?" I just stood there, REALLY DUDE?!?! What's one of the things no woman wants to hear ... especially when she has cute hair and fresh makeup? YOU. LOOK. TIRED. Thanks bud, I am tired. Why? First and foremost, I'm a mom of 3 sons. In our household, that looks like basketball, baseball and karate. Our children are VERY active in sports so nearly every night of the week we are either at practice or a game. It never stops. Year round. I only thought that it was hard when I had 3 kids under 4. Ha! When they hit the older years of junior high, dear Lord help me.
Oh, I look tired? Yeah I do because I own a business that never sleeps. Most nights I'm up working on something until about midnight. Then I get to wake up and get kids to school, then hit the office to see what everyone needs from me for the day. The other day I got to the office and I literally had 3 different employees standing in line to ask me questions so they could complete their jobs. Again, the business that never sleeps. I can tell you one thing though, I wouldn't change it for the world! I get to do something I love. Yes, LOVE. They say when you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life. Now, don't get me wrong, I get worn out sometimes, but it's worth it. Always.
Wednesday we went into the day knowing we were going to go hit up a smaller market down the road. This is where we get to meet up with our shoe guy at Corky's. We picked out some CA-HUTE new shoes that will be arriving soon. Guess what, while I was on facetime with my mom (she is the one that keeps the Waxahachie store up and running, knows what works best in the store) picking out shoes together, I totally forgot to take a picture of our selection. Oopsie! But, no worries. those gorgeous shoes will be here soon.
While at this market, we met some really awesome NEW VENDORS that we just fell in love with! We have ruffles, lace, graphic tees, and so much more on order up to size 3X. Y'all are really going to love it. I can tell you that you gals are really loving the new boutique finds, they are our top sellers every single night. So thank you for your support! I know that y'all are loving the new digs you're getting. :-)
Now, Wednesday night was Valentines Day. Joel calls it the Hallmark holiday. The "made up" holiday. But ... he took one for the team and took me to our favorite steak house at Ceasar's Palace. He did good.
We headed home on Thursday, ready to see our kiddos and my sweet baby dog Dexter of course. It felt weird not sleeping with a dog in my side all night long! Even at a hefty 7lbs, that dog feels like a 100lbs at night! Anyone else have an animal like that!?
All in all, I can say that we had a VERY successful week. And, while we were gone, I slept like a baby, so hopefully I took care of that "tired" look I was told I had. :-)
Have a blessed weekend! Until next time ...
