Hey loves! Happy 2018 😊
I pray that your holidays were all that you could have ever hoped for. I am happy to report that I spent the time with friends and family celebrating the birth of our Savior and then the coming of a new year.
There is just something so special about a new year. I love spending time reflecting on the previous months and remembering how ABUNDANTLY blessed I am (even when things were tough). 2017 saw lots of snort-laughter, travel, new friends, new opportunities, struggles, learning, growth, and love! I am always incredibly humbled to look back on my experiences and realize how much God has taught me. My hope is that I remember these lessons and use them for His glory as I move forward.
I challenge you to really focus on the events in your life that may have been teaching moments in disguise. How did you react to the person that cut you off in traffic? Were you bold in your faith? Did you take the time to lift up that person who needed you? How did you respond to someone that “forgot their Jesus” for a minute? Cement those moment’s feelings into memory and think about how to grow from your reactions. What will you do differently next time?
I am not huge on new year’s resolutions. I do, however, try to find a theme that I’d like to incorporate into the year. Last year’s theme was, “adventure”. I wanted to give myself a chance to say yes to spontaneity, and really just to practice saying yes more often to the fun(ner) things in life.
This year’s theme is “kindness”. I try my best to be kind to everyone- but like most- I struggle with being TRULY kind to people that are outside of my “bubble”. I am guilty of giving less grace or patience to people that I don’t know very well. My goal for the year is to practice Titus 3: 1-8.
I'm sorry that I don't have outfit pictures for you this time. I really tried to be present with my family and friends during our time together. Also-keeping it totally honest, I haven't put on "real" clothes much during my Christmas break from school. Thinking ahead and getting more photos to share with you all will be my "resolution" : )
